This will be the last centralized NHL Draft, as the league will shift to a decentralized model starting with the 2025 draft, where team personnel will operate from their respective headquarters.
The Sphere, which opened in September, is the largest spherical structure in the world and has been praised for its advanced technology and entertainment capabilities.
The league also announced that the salary cap will go up to $87.7 million for the 2024-25 season.
Plans are moving forward for a mini-international tournament in February 2025 featuring four countries as a lead in to the 2026 Olympics.
