2024 National Book Awards Finalists Announced

The National Book Foundation has revealed the finalists in five categories, with winners to be announced on November 20.

Twenty-five finalists were selected from over 1,900 submissions across fiction, nonfiction, poetry, translated literature, and young people’s literature.
Notable finalists include Salman Rushdie for his memoir 'Knife' and Percival Everett for his novel 'James'.
Five debut works made the list, and ten university or independent publishers are represented.
Lifetime achievement awards will be given to Barbara Kingsolver and W. Paul Coates at the ceremony.
The winners will receive $10,000, a bronze medal, and a statue, while finalists will receive $1,000 and a bronze medal.
