2024 National Book Awards Finalists Announced
The National Book Foundation has revealed the finalists in five categories, with winners to be announced on November 20.
- Twenty-five finalists were selected from over 1,900 submissions across fiction, nonfiction, poetry, translated literature, and young people’s literature.
- Notable finalists include Salman Rushdie for his memoir 'Knife' and Percival Everett for his novel 'James'.
- Five debut works made the list, and ten university or independent publishers are represented.
- Lifetime achievement awards will be given to Barbara Kingsolver and W. Paul Coates at the ceremony.
- The winners will receive $10,000, a bronze medal, and a statue, while finalists will receive $1,000 and a bronze medal.
