Travis Braun's 'Bad Boy' Tops the List, Highlighting a Year of Diverse and Engaging Stories

2023's Black List of best unproduced screenplays has been announced, featuring 76 feature screenplays by 80 writers, selected by over 375 film executives.
The top script of the year is 'Bad Boy' by Travis Braun, about a rescue dog that suspects its new owner is a serial killer.
Other notable scripts include a Tom Hanks meta satire, a time-traveling couple trying to fall out of love, and the making of the ill-fated Broadway production 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark'.
The Black List, founded in 2005, has seen over 440 of its selected screenplays produced, grossing over $30 billion in box office worldwide.
Black List films have won 54 Academy Awards from 273 nominations, including four of the last 12 Best Picture Oscars and 11 of the last 28 Best Screenplay Oscars.
