20-Year-Old Charged Over Mount Druitt Drive-By as Court Refuses Bail

Investigators are treating the May attack as a criminal group matter pending court hearings.

Overview

  • Heavily armed police arrested Terleaha Williams, 20, in a Mount Druitt raid on December 30 and charged her with firing at a dwelling, participating in a criminal group, and possessing an unregistered or banned firearm.
  • A magistrate refused bail, calling the alleged offenses very serious and noting that, although she is not accused of being the shooter, her role appeared significant.
  • The charges relate to a May 9 incident around 1:15am on Frank Street, where a dark hatchback allegedly fired more than 30 rounds into a home occupied by seven adults and four children, with no injuries reported.
  • The investigation is being led by State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad under Strike Force Evere, with assistance from the Raptor Squad.
  • Two men arrested earlier in December — identified as Steve Mate, 30, and Christopher Leonard, 31 — face related charges and remain before the courts with hearings scheduled in late January and February.
