1974 Murder Victim Identified as Possible 'Scorecard Killer' Victim

Michael Ray Schlicht, an Iowa teen, has been identified nearly 50 years after his death, linking him to notorious serial killer Randy Kraft.

Michael Ray Schlicht, a teenager from Iowa who was murdered in 1974, has been identified nearly 50 years later as a possible victim of notorious convicted serial killer Randy Kraft, also known as 'The Scorecard Killer'.
Schlicht's body was found in Southern California in 1974, and his cause of death was originally ruled as accidental alcohol and diazepam intoxication.
Kraft was convicted in 1989 of 16 murders in Southern California, though authorities believe he could have killed upwards of 60 men from 1972 to 1983.
Using investigative genetic genealogy, authorities were able to identify the body as Schlicht's, nearly 50 years after his remains were found.
Schlicht's death is still under investigation, and is being treated as a homicide.
