Overview
- The wing launched six MC-130J Commando II aircraft in a mass “Launch the Fleet” formation on Sept. 11.
- The aircraft departed Harrisburg International Airport and flew from about 1 to 3 p.m. as part of routine training.
- The route was visible from Fort Indiantown Gap, Middletown, Lewisberry, Dillsburg, Shippensburg and points along the West Shore.
- Officials described the flights as a tribute to 9/11 victims and first responders while reinforcing low-level formation and other mission skills.
