Overview
- Emergency services were called shortly after 8pm Friday to the entrance of a George Street car park in Hornsby.
- Police say a white BMW allegedly rear-ended a silver Kia that was turning into the car park, pushing it into the pedestrian who was crossing.
- Paramedics took the 33-year-old, who was eight months pregnant, to Westmead Hospital in critical condition, where she and her baby died.
- Both drivers — a 19-year-old in the BMW and a 48-year-old in the Kia — were uninjured and underwent mandatory testing at Hornsby Hospital.
- The 19-year-old was arrested about 12:45am Saturday at a Wahroonga home as Crash Investigation Unit officers processed the scene and inquiries continued.
