18-Year-Old Nepali Sets Record by Conquering All 14 Peaks Over 8,000 Meters

Nima Rinji Sherpa, at 18, has become the youngest person to climb all 14 of the world's highest peaks, each over 8,000 meters.
The final peak in his journey was Shisha Pangma in Tibet, which he summited on October 9, 2024.
This achievement is seen as a tribute to the Sherpa community, historically known for supporting climbers in the Himalayas.
Sherpa began his high-altitude climbing career at 16, with his first major ascent being Mount Manaslu in 2022.
His accomplishment surpasses the previous record set by Mingma Gyabu Sherpa, who completed the challenge at age 30 in 2019.
