• Neve Baker-Wright was handed the keys on July 30 and officially reopened the Grade II-listed New Inn with a live band on August 1.
• She leveraged her A-level business studies and pub work since age 14 to secure the lease from Admiral Taverns at 18.
• Her father, Andy Baker, serves as chef while her mother and stepmother helped clean up and revamp the menu with burgers, steaks, ribs and pies.
• She has launched quiz nights, bingo sessions and seniors lunches, and plans to invest in garden play equipment and a decked stage for live local music.
• The move comes as the British Beer and Pub Association reports a net loss of 289 pubs last year during a two-decade decline that has seen roughly 15,000 closures.
