18-Year-Old Dies, Brother Injured After Bedroom Ceiling Collapse in Manacor

  • The collapse was reported at about 5:12 a.m. on Calle Sant Francesc in Manacor, according to emergency services.
  • The upper flat roof slab of a room fell onto the floor below and affected another part of the home, Bomberos de Mallorca said.
  • Rescuers extricated both brothers, finding the 18-year-old deceased, while the 12-year-old was stabilized at the scene.
  • The injured child was transported by a SAMU 061 advanced life support ambulance to the pediatric emergency department at Hospital Universitari Son Espases.
  • Fire crews from the Manacor and Llucmajor stations attended, additional SVA and a basic life support unit were activated, and authorities have not yet identified a cause.
