18 Workers Abducted in Assault on Khuzdar Road Project Camp

Overview

• Dozens of armed men raided a D-Baloch construction camp late Thursday in the Kaleri area of Naal, about 80 kilometres from Khuzdar, targeting a road link to Basima.
• Attackers burned at least eight vehicles and pieces of heavy machinery before taking labourers at gunpoint, officials said.
• The kidnappers initially seized 20 workers and later released two, leaving 18 missing, with most of those taken reported to be from Sindh province.
• Personnel from the Levies, Frontier Corps and Counter Terrorism Department have cordoned off the site and launched a search with tribal elders, and investigators report no breakthrough yet.
