Overview

• The incident took place at about 12pm on Saturday at a home on Culgoa Bend in Villawood when an 18-month-old girl was struck in the driveway.
• Paramedics administered first aid at the scene before rushing the toddler to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in critical condition.
• The child succumbed to her injuries after arriving at Westmead Hospital.
• NSW Police confirmed the driver, a 28-year-old woman, underwent mandatory blood and breath tests under local regulations.
• The Crash Investigation Unit has taken over the inquiry and will prepare a report for the coroner.
