Overview
- Joint operations by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, BSF, CRPF, ITBP and Manipur Police led to the arrest of 13 militants across Kangpokpi, Senapati, Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal on May 26.
- Security forces recovered 23 arms and munitions, including self-loading rifles, .303 rifles, shotguns, improvised mortars and 9 mm pistols, during the May 26 operations.
- On May 27, five additional militants from the Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG), People’s Liberation Army and Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (SOREPA) were apprehended in Thoubal, Tengnoupal and Kakching districts.
- Extortion materials and two demand letters linked to KCP (PWG) were seized from cadres arrested in Thoubal.
