17-Year-Old to Face Juvenile Charges in Petaluma Crash That Killed 14-Year-Old

A passenger was killed and three others were injured in a crash after Petaluma police chased a suspected DUI driver.

  • The 17-year-old driver remains hospitalized and is expected to be booked into juvenile hall on charges of vehicular manslaughter, DUI causing great bodily injury or death, and evading police causing great bodily injury or death.
  • On the evening of July 19, Petaluma officers pursuing a stolen black Kia Soul observed it swerving and sideswiping a vehicle before it overturned off Old Lakeville Road No. 1.
  • The rollover ejected all four male teens, killing 14-year-old Novato student Aldo Rodriguez Cazarez and injuring three other Marin County youths.
