17-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed at Tuva School During New Year Event

Regional investigators said a 17-year-old student from the Ak-Dovurak Mining Technical School is suspected of stabbing a peer who died at the scene.
According to the Tuva Interior Ministry, the suspect and the victim were former classmates.
The attack occurred on the grounds of a Kyzyl‑Mazhalyk school during a holiday tree celebration, reportedly in an outdoor toilet, a law‑enforcement source told TASS.
A criminal case was opened under Part 1, Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code, and the republic’s education ministry launched a service investigation.
Director Baylak Kuzhuget said the suspect will remain enrolled pending the inquiries and described him as a first‑year from a single‑parent, large family who frequently missed classes.
