Overview

• Anthonaya Campbell, 17, died after more than two weeks on life support from a gunshot to the head sustained Aug. 23 while watching a basketball tournament at Haffen Park in Baychester.
• Police have ruled her death a homicide, making her the second person to die from the shooting that also killed 32-year-old Jaceil Banks and wounded three adults.
• Prosecutors and police said dozens of shots were fired during the event, and investigators recovered multiple firearms at the scene.
• Four suspects — Daeven Reyes, 20; Robert Royal, 25; and two juveniles — were arrested at the park and charged with murder, attempted murder and weapons offenses, with some also facing gang-assault counts.
• Prosecutors have indicated at least one attempted-murder count may be upgraded following Campbell’s death, and city officials plan to deploy 1,000 additional officers to Bronx violence hot spots.
