17-Year-Old Charged with Murder in Covington Double Shooting

14-year-old Amani Smith was killed in the incident, while another teen remains in stable condition.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a double shooting in Covington, Kentucky, which resulted in the death of 14-year-old Amani Smith.
The second victim, also 14, is in stable condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Both victims were students at Covington Independent Public Schools, which was placed on lockdown following the incident.
The parents of Amani Smith believe the intended target of the shooting was Amani's older brother.
This is the second fatal shooting in Covington this week, following the shooting death of a 2-year-old on Monday, for which no arrests have been made.
