17-Year-Old Arrested After Baby Found in Boultham Park Water in Lincoln

Police seek witnesses to determine how the child entered the water.

  • Officers were called around 9:20pm on Thursday, 21 August, and found a 15-month-old in Boultham Park just before 9:30pm.
  • A member of the public pulled the baby from a small waterway leading from the lake toward the St Catherine’s area, and the child was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
  • A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the incident and remains in custody.
  • Police have maintained a scene guard at the park as they work to establish how the child entered the water.
  • Detectives urge anyone with dashcam or sightings from St Catherine’s Road or Newark Road between 8:45pm and 9:30pm—especially of a pushchair or a cyclist—to call 101 quoting incident 494 of 21/08/25.
