Overview

• The collision occurred around 7:28 p.m. Monday at Reuter Drive and Grove Street in Arlington Heights, police said.
• The northbound e-bike struck the rear passenger door of a gray 2021 Ford F-150 traveling east on Grove Street at high speed.
• The 16-year-old rider was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead.
• Police said the rider was not wearing a helmet, and the pickup driver was uninjured and not impaired.
• Grove Street was closed for an on-scene investigation, and no charges have been announced.
