Despite stumbling on her last spin during her less impressive free skate, Levito's performance was sufficiently strong to win over other competitors, including Anastasiia Gubanova of Georgia and Lee Hae-in of South Korea
Levito's win is significant as it qualifies her for the Grand Prix Final in Beijing, scheduled from December 7 to 10.
She becomes the first American woman to win a Grand Prix title since Ashley Wagner's victory at Skate America in 2016.
Before her win in France, Levito had previously secured four runner-up finishes at other Grand Prix events, demonstrating a steady improvement in her performance.
