Overview

  • On June 28, stunt driver Raymond Kohn piloted a replica 1969 Dodge Charger known as the General Lee across a 150-foot gap over Somerset’s Fountain Square.
  • Kohn’s months-long preparation included installing a reinforced roll cage and push bar to boost safety during the high-speed stunt.
  • Somernites Cruise Executive Director Keith Floyd confirmed that Kohn was in good condition after landing and praised the safety protocols.
  • Approximately 35,000 spectators attended the 25th annual Somernites Cruise to witness the tribute and meet original Dukes of Hazzard stars John Schneider and Byron Cherry.
  • The leap paid homage to the 1979–1985 series, which reportedly wrecked around 300 Dodge Chargers to stage similar jumps.
