14-Year-Old Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter in Halifax Stabbing

The girl was initially charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 16-year-old near a Halifax mall.

The girl admitted to manslaughter and violating bail conditions in Halifax Youth Court.
The Crown dropped its pursuit of an adult sentence for the girl.
The victim, Ahmad Maher Al Marrach, a Syrian refugee, was found injured in April and died in hospital.
Two 17-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy also face second-degree murder charges in the case.
The court will reconvene on October 30 to enter facts and consider a publication ban.
