14-Year-Old Girl Fatally Stabbed During School Altercation in Texas

A dispute between two classmates at Roy J. Smith Middle School in Killeen resulted in one girl's death and the other being taken into custody.

Serenity Baker, 14, died after being stabbed during a confrontation with a classmate at Roy J. Smith Middle School on Monday morning.
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m., prompting a lockdown and the evacuation of over 1,000 students to a nearby church for reunification with their families.
The suspect, also 14 years old, was taken into juvenile custody, and authorities are investigating the case as a homicide.
The Killeen Independent School District has suspended classes at the school until March 24, following spring break, and will provide counseling services for students and staff.
