Overview
- Police said the crash happened about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the 1856 Apartments when the 14-year-old driver failed to negotiate a turn in the parking lot.
- No injuries were reported, but a portion of the building was deemed uninhabitable due to structural damage.
- Photos posted by the San Marcos Police Department show the vehicle went nearly all the way through a corner of the exterior wall.
- Management moved residents from the affected building into other units, and the city’s electric utility shut off power at the scene as a precaution.
- As of Friday morning the vehicle remained in place, with removal expected today as conditions allow, and the incident is under investigation.
