Overview

• Officers responded on Sept. 10 to a shooting at a Labelle Street apartment complex on Jacksonville’s Westside.
• Police found 18-year-old Marlon Lane with multiple gunshot wounds, and he later died at a hospital.
• Detectives identified a 14-year-old as the prime suspect, and he turned himself in the same day a warrant was issued.
• The teen is in custody on murder charges as JSO works with the State Attorney’s Office on the case.
