13-Year-Old Stops Joyride After Car Breaks Down on German Highway

A teenager and two younger children took a vehicle from a youth care worker, but their trip ended due to a mechanical failure.

A 13-year-old girl stole a car belonging to a youth care worker in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, using a key taken from the worker's jacket.
She was accompanied by two younger boys, aged 8 and 11, who had also run away from the youth care facility.
The group intended to drive to the nearby town of Neuwied but was stopped when the vehicle broke down on the Bundesstraße 256 highway.
A passing driver noticed the stranded car and contacted the police after realizing it was occupied only by children.
Authorities confirmed that no one was injured, and the situation ended without further incident.
