13 Students Dead in School Dormitory Fire in China's Henan Province

Investigation Underway as School Manager Detained Following Deadly Blaze at Yingcai School

Thirteen students died in a fire at a school dormitory in Yanshanpu village, Henan province, China.
The fire broke out on Friday night at Yingcai School, a private boarding school catering to nursery and primary-age pupils.
The school's manager has been detained and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
One other person is being treated in hospital and is in a stable condition.
Fatal fires in China are not uncommon due to lax enforcement of building and safety standards.
