Overview
- Victoria Police say the Christian College Geelong bus rolled while turning left from Friend In Hand Road onto the Hamilton Highway at Stonehaven around 8:20am Wednesday.
- There were 28 students on board, and more than 20 were taken to hospital, with Barwon Health reporting 13 patients at Geelong University Hospital, 12 of them children.
- A 16-year-old boy from Inverleigh was airlifted with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and other students were treated for a range of injuries.
- The 76-year-old Hamlyn Heights driver was discharged from hospital, interviewed, and released pending further inquiries after passing preliminary alcohol and drug tests.
- Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are examining vehicle, scene and other evidence, and authorities have asked witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
