12-Year-Old Lucie Found Safe After Alerte Enlèvement in Orne, Suspect Arrested

Prosecutors opened a flagrance investigation following the nationwide alert, with specialized gendarmes leading the case.

Overview

  • Lucie was located alive around 6 p.m. in Montbert, Loire-Atlantique, roughly 250 km from her Dompierre home, and the alert was lifted.
  • The suspect, Charles Foury, 34, a friend of the girl’s father, was arrested and placed in custody.
  • Authorities say Foury has prior convictions for violence, including against a minor, and repeated death threats, and he is under a tutelle measure.
  • The Argentan prosecutor opened a flagrance probe for arrestation, enlèvement, séquestration or détention arbitraire of a minor under 15, entrusted to the Section de recherches de Caen and the Brigade de recherches de Domfront-en-Poiraie.
  • Investigators tracked a Citroën C5 borrowed from the father to the RN175 near Avranches at 03:30 and later localized the suspect’s phone near Rennes at 04:46, and they report the inquiry points to “relations” between the minor and the suspect as the victim is heard and supported.
