E’minie Hughes, a 12-year-old from Houston, has been missing since February 22, last seen entering a dark-colored Dodge pickup.
An Amber Alert was issued for Hughes, who is believed to have only had her clothes and an Android tablet with her.
Houston Police suspect Hughes may have been trafficked, potentially due to activity on the social media app Tagged.
Tagged's parent company has reached out to law enforcement to assist with the investigation.
About 460,000 children go missing in the US annually, with a significant number feared to be victims of trafficking.
