12-Year-Old Boy Dies in Skiing Accident at New Hampshire's Cranmore Mountain

The boy struck a tree on an intermediate trail on New Year’s Eve, despite immediate rescue efforts by ski patrol and first responders.

The fatal incident occurred on December 31, 2024, when the boy collided with a tree while skiing on the Bandit Trail, an intermediate-level slope at Cranmore Mountain Resort.
Cranmore Mountain Ski Patrol provided CPR and transported the boy to the base of the mountain, where he was handed over to emergency responders.
The boy was taken to MaineHealth Memorial Hospital in North Conway but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Authorities have not disclosed the boy's identity, but he was reported to have been wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Cranmore Mountain Resort and local officials, including Conway Police Chief Christopher Mattei, expressed condolences to the boy's family, calling the loss tragic.
