115 Animals Seized From Plympton Property in MSPCA Cruelty Probe

Authorities are holding the seized animals during an active cruelty investigation with no charges announced.

Overview

  • MSPCA officers and Plympton Police executed a court-approved search Tuesday at 34 Lake St. as part of an animal cruelty investigation.
  • Officers removed 115 animals, mostly farm birds, along with two dogs, two cats, five rabbits, two ferrets and five goats.
  • MSPCA said the animals were found living in unsanitary conditions with inadequate access to food and water.
  • Most animals were transported to MSPCA-Angell’s Nevins Farm, with the dogs and two rabbits taken to the Cape Cod Adoption Center, and they are not available for adoption.
  • The case began after homeowners reported concerns about tenants; the operation took about four hours, no charges have been filed, and the owner’s daughter, Jenifer Rogers, disputes neglect and cites a family dispute.
