11 Tons of Cocaine Seized in Spain

Drugs smuggled in shipping containers, hidden among frozen tuna and in false bottoms, linked to Balkans criminal organizations.

Spanish authorities have confiscated 11 tons of cocaine and arrested 20 people in two separate operations.
7,500 kilograms of the seized cocaine were hidden among frozen tuna in the northwestern city of Vigo.
A criminal organization was using a frozen seafood company as a front to smuggle the drugs from South America to Spain.
Another 3,400 kilograms of cocaine were found in false bottoms of shipping containers in the port of the eastern city of Valencia.
Both operations are linked to criminal organizations from the Balkans region.
