11 Killed in Three Western Cape Shootings

Overview

  • The three attacks occurred on Saturday night into early Sunday and left 11 people dead across Langa, Khayelitsha and the Barcelona informal settlement in Gugulethu.
  • Police say four men and a woman were shot on Winnie Mandela Street in Phase 3, Langa; three men were killed in the TR Section of Lingelethu West, Khayelitsha; and two men and a woman were killed in Gugulethu.
  • Western Cape Police have sent extra officers to the three scenes and other identified hotspots and placed Provincial Serious Violent Crime detectives on the investigations.
