Overview
- A record-breaking 11-foot sculpture of Superman was hoisted to the spire of The Shard at 300 meters above London’s streets for a one-day installation.
- The hyper-realistic model, based on David Corenswet, was built with a welded steel framework, ECO resin fiberglass and galvanised steel cables after four months and over 2,000 man-hours of work.
- Real Estate Management described the sight as “truly surreal” and highlighted its placement on Western Europe’s tallest building for maximum visibility of the figure.
- Londoners took to social media calling the suspended Superman “epic” and “in awe” as the model was reportedly visible from up to 40 miles away.
- The stunt forms part of DC Studios’ global campaign to build excitement for the new Superman film, which premieres on July 11, before the sculpture moves on to its next promotional destination.
