Overview
- Fox Company was established on Dec. 16 under the 1-10 Attack Battalion within the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, which the division describes as a first-of-its-kind tactical unmanned formation.
- The unit is dedicated to offensive drones and launched effects intended to hunt targets in the division’s deep area, according to battalion commander Lt. Col. Chris Stoinoff.
- Soldiers are partnering with the division’s innovation cell to design and produce drone components in house for faster adaptation.
- Leaders plan to integrate the company’s reconnaissance and other drone missions with three Apache companies in the 1st Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment.
- The activation reflects service-wide changes shaped by Ukraine war lessons, including a May aviation overhaul and recent DoD efforts such as JIATF-401 and regional unmanned strike units.
