• Devotees at the Karuppannasamy temple’s Kumbabhishekam festival began falling ill with stomach pain, vomiting and fainting shortly after the communal anna dhana meal.
• All 107 sickened individuals were admitted to Madurai’s Government Rajaji Hospital, including 41 men, 55 women and 11 children.
• Medical teams administered antibiotics, antiemetic treatment and intravenous fluids, and seven patients were moved to a separate ward as a precaution.
