Overview
- BMC is upgrading 100 kW electrical meters at the Pise–Panjrapur treatment complex, with daily work scheduled from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm on October 7–9.
- Parts of South Mumbai and the eastern suburbs will see a 10% reduction during the three days, covering A, B, E, F-South and F-North wards, plus M-East, M-West, L, N, S and T wards.
- Thane will also have a 10% cut from October 7–9 in multiple localities that receive BMC water, with TMC listing neighborhoods such as Naupada, Pachpakhadi, Hajuri and Kopri among those affected.
- A separate MIDC maintenance drive will fully shut water in Thane for 24 hours from 12:00 am October 9 to 12:00 am October 10 to repair Barvi Gravity Main pipelines at the Jambhul WTP, impacting Diva, most of Kalwa, parts of Mumbra and Wagle, and Kolset Khalsa village.
- Civic bodies advise storing water and using it judiciously, warning of low pressure for one to two days after restoration, with normal supply expected from October 10 where the shutdown does not apply.
