10 ISL Clubs Accuse AIFF of Breach of Trust After Court-Set Tender Deadline Lapses

Supreme Court oversight has not produced a tender, leaving teams preparing for the Oct. 25–Nov. 22 Super Cup uncertain.

Overview

  • Ten clubs wrote to AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey, saying the missed Oct. 15 deadline to select a new commercial partner violates assurances given to the Supreme Court.
  • The signatories are Chennaiyin, Punjab, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, FC Goa, NorthEast United, Kerala Blasters, Odisha, Jamshedpur and Mumbai City, with Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting not joining.
  • The clubs asked the federation to disclose the status of the process, specify when the tender will be released, and publish a definite timeline for partner selection.
  • The Supreme Court had tasked Justice (retd) Nageswara Rao with overseeing the process, and AIFF announced KPMG India Services LLP as consultant, yet no tender documents have been issued.
  • An AIFF executive committee meeting this week did not finalize the bid document, an official said, as teams that agreed to play the Super Cup in good faith cite mounting logistical and financial strain after the ISL season was earlier put on hold.
