10 Days After IGI Airport Escape, British National Still Untraced as Manhunt Expands

The breach has prompted a multi-agency probe into failures in transit supervision at Delhi’s international hub.

Overview

  • Police identified the fugitive as Jordan Joseph Peter Fitz Patrick, a British national who arrived from Bangkok on October 28 on Air India flight AI 333 and missed his London connection AI 117.
  • CCTV footage shows him scaling the immigration e-visa flap gate, exiting via arrival gate 4, moving toward the city, and boarding an Air India SATS staff ferry bus.
  • An FIR was filed on October 31 under sections 3 and 21 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, and airline and ground-handling personnel have been questioned.
  • Delhi Police, CISF, the Bureau of Immigration, the FRRO, and intelligence units are using technical and human intelligence to trace him, with alerts at railway stations, bus terminals, metro stations, and hotels across the NCR.
  • Officers say he lacked a valid Indian visa, and a CISF official noted the incident unfolded in an area managed by immigration and customs rather than CISF.
