10 Charged in Pro-Palestinian Protest at UC Irvine

Two professors and four students among those facing misdemeanor charges following May demonstration.

The Orange County District Attorney filed charges against 10 individuals for failing to disperse during a protest at UC Irvine.
The demonstration on May 15 led to clashes with police, resulting in 47 arrests, including 27 students.
Protesters were advocating for the university to divest from companies supporting Israel amid the Gaza conflict.
Two UCI faculty members, Tiffany Willoughby-Herard and Jonathan Brook Haley, are among those charged.
Prosecutors are still reviewing evidence to determine potential charges for up to 40 more individuals involved in the protest.
