₹1 Crore of Jewellery Stolen From Sleeping Family in Ultadanga

  • Around ₹1 crore in jewellery and ₹2 lakh in cash went missing from an apartment in Ultadanga’s P-193 CIT Scheme after thieves cut a window grille.
  • The family discovered the theft Monday morning when they woke to find the grille cut open and cupboards in two rooms ransacked.
  • Ultadanga police have taken statements from residents and neighbours and are analysing CCTV footage of multiple access routes.
  • Investigators are examining whether a sedative spray was used after noting the occupants slept through the burglary without hearing noise.
