Bhārat Mātā (Sanskrit: भारतमाता, romanized: Bhārat Mātā lit.Mother India in English) or Bhāratāmbā (Sanskrit: भारताम्बा; अम्बा ambā means 'mother') is the national personification of India, that is Bharat as the mother goddess, as well as a portrayal of the Goddess of Liberty embodying Diversity. ‘Bharat' symbolize the ideologies principles and culture of people living on that land and ‘Mata’or 'Amba' because according to the people living in India, Mother is the epitomy of care, love,blessings, protection, never ending love, consolation, sacrifice and much more thus given the Highest Honour Mata.(Mother) Although the mother and motherland were sometimes ranked higher than heaven in ancient Sanskrit literature, the idea of the mother goddess, Bharat Mata, dates to the late 19th century. She appeared first in the popular Bengali language-novel Anandamath (1882) in a form inseparable from the Hindu goddesses Durga and Kali. After the controversial division of Bengal province in 1905, she was given wider notice during the boycott of British-made goods organized by Sir Surendranath Bannerjee.
