Trayodashi is the Sanskrit word for "thirteen", and is the thirteenth day in the lunar fortnight of the Hindu calendar. Each month has two Trayodashi days, being the thirteenth day of the "bright" and of the "dark" fortnights respectively. From Wikipedia
