Samaria, the Hellenized form of the Hebrew name Shomron, is a mountainous region of the Levant located in the nothern part of the West Bank of the Jordan river.
It is bordered by Judea to the south and Galilee to the north. The region is known in Arabic under two names, Samirah, and Mount Nablus. From Wikipedia
