Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī, or simply Rumi, was a 13th-century poet, Hanafi faqih, Maturidi theologian, and Sufi mystic born during the Khwarazmian Empire.
Rumi's works are written in his mother tongue, Persian. He occasionally used the Arabic language and single Turkish and Greek words in his verse. His Masnavi, composed in Konya, is considered one of the greatest poems of the Persian language. From Wikipedia
