Eisenhüttenstadt is a town in the Oder-Spree district of the state of Brandenburg, in eastern Germany, on the border with Poland. East Germany founded the city in 1950 as a model socialist city. It was known as Stalinstadt between 1953 and 1961, in honor of Joseph Stalin, the former leader of the Soviet Union. It was renamed as Eisenhüttenstadt during the campaign of de-Stalinization in East Germany. From Wikipedia
