The New South Wales Department of Regional NSW is a department of the New South Wales Government responsible for the state's regional issues, building resilient regional economies and communities, strengthening primary industries, managing the use of regional land and overseeing the state’s mineral and mining resources. It also administers the Department of Primary Industries (DPI). The department was established on 2 April 2020 to coordinate support for communities, businesses and farmers hit by the recent bushfires, floods and COVID-19 crises. It assumed the functions of the Regions, Industry, Agriculture and Resources division from the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment. It also brought together Department of Primary Industries, Local Land Services, Resources and Geoscience and regional coordination across the government. From Wikipedia
