South Coast Railway Zone has been announced as the newest railway zone of the Indian Railways and is headquartered at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The formal notification for operationalization of this zone is yet to be issued.
The zone is headquartered at Visakhapatnam and has three divisions: Vijayawada, Guntur and Guntakal. The zone spreads over the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. It covers minor portions of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
