Matthew Jared Mervis, nicknamed "Mash", is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball. He has previously played in MLB for the Chicago Cubs. Mervis played college baseball at Duke University, and signed with the Cubs as an undrafted free agent in 2020. In 2022, he led Minor League Baseball in RBIs, and was third with 36 home runs.
